April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began the guitar and piano lessons in the 7th grade, which ignited curiosity. April's first song was Different, which she wrote at 12 years of age. When she was 14 April devoted a great deal of time to making song lyrics and working on the music she was playing. In the following months, she began taking writing excursions together with her dad to LA as well as NY. April began including other topics in her book Take My Hand to help those of her peers who struggled in the face of peer pressure, disability or suicide. Lockhart is a lifestyle and beauty influencer with an ever-growing number of followers. She collaborates with the renowned brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership and is also a lifestyle expert. She was not born with a left hand, and that is why she's who she is. But that's far from all the facts. Lockhart does not deny that she has a disability on her Instagram account, but she does not make it the main focus of her story. What is the message? We all have multiple aspects that our identities are complex and that we're much beyond our physical bodies. It's not my intention to let that determine me. I do not wish to become a disability influencer where it's the only thing I discuss because there are other things about me Lockhart speaks via video from her residence in Nashville. And it doesn't affect my everyday life. I go about everything normally and I've found my own method of adjusting to things. But it's also a part of me, so I believe it's important to talk about. Lockhart is a true source of motivation for self-acceptance generally, is on a long process to attain this. Still, she acknowledges going through periods of feeling insecure about her body and feeling uneasy wearing certain clothing styles which exposed her arms. Today, she wears what she's comfortable in and post photos in those outfits to social media, she is proud of herself. Self-love she said is a kind of journey. "I don't think you will ever be in that place," she said. However, I believe that's the case common to everyone regardless of what their insecurity is. It is important to have people that know and can relate to you. They'll be the ones asking what you think about?
